Since 1989, when the first scholarship was endowed, until present, the children of SAS have benefited through the generosity of the endowers. Those students who otherwise might not have been able to attend a Catholic school, have been and are part of the St. Aloysius family. This school has been blessed in many ways, and one of the most special is the availability of scholarships made possible by those that believe in Catholic education and St. Aloysius School. Every year, St. Aloysius School awards over forty need-based scholarships. Need is always the prime determinant for selection. Other criteria considered in selection are good character, satisfactory achievement, and activities. Four scholarships are designated for minority students. Scholarships awards range in value from $500 to full tuition. All submitted information remains confidential. A scholarship selection committee meets to determine recipients. To be considered, a student must be an enrolled kindergartner through eighth grader for the year applying for assistance.
Applications for 2017-2018 were made available in mid-December. The 2017-2018 scholarship/financial aid application deadline was Friday, January 27th at 3:00 p.m. Notifications will be sent out to applicants in late February. For families experiencing hardships outside of the application window, please contact Tiffany Meek in the Development Office to explore other opportunities for assistance.
St. Aloysius also participates in the ACE Scholarship Program. To be eligible, applicants must be accepted to SAS and meet the criteria of the ACE Scholarship Program. For more information on this need-based program, visit http://www.acescholarships.org/
