News & Calendar1st and 2nd Grade -Grandparents' Mass/ Visit
St. Aloysius School would like to invite the grandparents of our 1st and 2nd graders to their Grandparents' Day which is scheduled for Friday, March 24, 2017. Parents, please share the information below with 1st and 2nd grade students' grandparents as invitations are not mailed. If a grandparent is unavailable, please feel free to invite an aunt, uncle, or special someone to join us for the celebration. This gathering is designated for 1st and 2nd graders. No other grade levels will attend.
Instructions for Grandparents:
We ask that guests do not bring other children with them for this visitation. Guests are to park in the reserved church parking lot area closest to the football field and proceed to the church by 7:50 a.m. as mass will begin at 8:00 a.m. Ushers will direct guests to their seating area in church as grandparents will be seated by homeroom. Students will join their grandparents in the pews. In the case of siblings or cousins, the grandparents will sit in the seating area of the younger child. In case of twins or cousins in the same grade, ask the students to let their grandparent know where to sit. All of the grandchildren sit with them. Grandparents of the students facilitating mass should sit in pews in the choir area. Students will join them as they complete their mass ministry.
Following mass, the principal will address the congregation and then dismiss grandparents and students to the old gym for refreshments. Chocolate chip cookies and snickerdoodle cookies (sugar cookies topped with cinnamon) from the HoneyBaked Ham Company will be served along with milk, water, and coffee. Please advise your child and guests that students are not allowed to have coffee. If your child is not able to have the cookies due to food allergies or dietary restrictions, please contact your child's teacher.
At 9:10 a.m. Principal Erin Candilora will dismiss the students and grandparents from the gym for classroom visitation. At 9:30 a.m. guests will depart campus. Please note that this is a regular school day, and students are expected to remain at school following the visit.
We look forward to visiting with all of our guests!
