OTC POLICY for GRADES 6-8th ONLY
St. Aloysius School has revised its OTC policy for grades 6-8. These changes were made based on guidelines issued by the Louisiana State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education and the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
Under the new policy, all medications, including OTC medications given by the school nurses must be prescribed by a physician. A parent and/or guardian and physician must complete the “OTC Order Form.” Without this form, the SAS nurse will not be able to administer any OTC medications for symptoms such as headaches, orthodontia discomfort, and menstrual cramps. The “OTC Order Form” for the 2017-2018 school year should have been returned to the school office by FRIDAY JULY 28,2017. This form can also be scanned into the new health portal. A separate form is required for each student. Parents are always welcome to come to school to administer medications to their children.
Please be aware that it is a state requirement to provide the current immunization record upon entering school. The immunization record must have the doctor's signature on it and be presented on or before enrollment. Thank you for your cooperation.
