Welcome to the St. Aloysius Choir and Drama Website.

We hope that this site is a useful resource for current students, parents, alumni, community members and prospective students. We offer a  tradition of excellence that you will find as you explore this website.

There are many reasons for this success: supportive administration, good facilities and a fantastic elementary and middle school music program but what really makes the choirs special are the fantastic, devoted students and their incredibly supportive parents.

It's been a FULL Fall Semester in MUSIC and Drama at St. Aloysius School - - -

On October 18th (evening) and 19th (school day) the St. Aloysius Advanced Choir performed SHREK. the story of an ogre who finds his swamp invaded fairytale characters who have been banished by Lord Farquaad, a tiny terror with big ambitions. When Shrek sets off with a wisecracking donkey to confront Farquaad, he's handed a task – if he rescues feisty princess Fiona, his swamp will be righted. Shrek tries to win Fiona’s love and vanquish Lord Farquaad, but a fairytale wouldn't be complete without a few twists and turns along the way.

At first glance it may seem to be a children's story; however, deep within lies morals for us all, the most obvious is to not judge others solely by appearances.  Companionship is another important theme. At the beginning of the story, Shrek has already been ostracized and has withdrawn from the world, wanting nothing more than to be left alone. Through circumstances thrust upon him, Shrek learns to tear down the walls he has built around him and eventually cross the metaphorical bridge to beginning deeper, more fulfilling relationships. In many ways Shrek’s story is ours.  While the lessons of self-acceptance, inner-beauty, true friendship, inclusion, and reserving judgment may not be new, they’re still important in today's image-conscious and isolated world.  It’s refreshing to have such an entertaining reminder in our hectic lives.

We are different.  We are UNITED. This is our STORY!

The annual Christmas Concert featuring the Performance Choir and Band program held Tuesday, December 5 was the semester climax. This standing room only concert featured the 5th Grade Beginner Band, 6th Grade Intermediate Band, 7th and 8th Grade Combined Bands as well as the Performance Choir.
