Grades K-1

We work on locomotor skills such as running, skipping, hopping, and gallopping.

We also play games that foster:

  • Hand/eye coordination
  • Catching and throwing
  • Kicking skills
  • Dribble skills
  • Agility and Balance

Grades 2-4

Warmups and jogging precede every class!

In grades 2 and 3 we play games that help to further develop gross locomoter skills, hand/eye coordination, spatial awareness, flexability, throwing and catching skills, and more.During every class we try to get every student up, moving, and having a fun time while never forgeting good sportsmanship.

In our 4th grade classes we introduce team sports.  We get into the basics of volleyball, basketball, soccer, kickball, and softball or whiffleball. On our "Fun Days" we play:

  • Old fashioned "dodgeball" ( with foam coated balls)
  • Battleball
  • Jump rope
  • Hula hoop

Grades 5-8

All classes begin with jogging laps around the baskeball court...aerobic activity!

We have 3 week units on:

  • Indoor soccer (using foam ball)
  • Badminton
  • Basketball
  • Volleyball
  • Kickball
  • Whiffleball
  • Square dancing!  New Unit!

On short schedule days or days when we have interrupted classes we have "fun days".  These activities include dodgeball, battleball, put-out, jump rope games, hula hooping.
